For any of these to work you do need to set up the resolution for 1280x960 prior to applying the fix. Trouble is there is no such resolution available to choose. The only one I'm having are 800x600, 1024x768, 1024x768 (70hz) and 1280x1024.

You need multiple restarts for it to take effect. Sometimes it still comes up not quite right. Even when I got it to work, my game went from completely stable to crashing and corrupting save files.
