When a vertebra moves anteriorly (to the front), it is anterolisthesis. If it moves posteriorly (to the rear), it is retrolisthesis. Anterolisthesis is more common than retrolisthesis. WebRetrolisthesis is a spinal condition characterized by joint dysfunction that occurs when a single vertebra (spinal bone) shifts backward or underneath an intervertebral disc.
