The problem is that some manufacturers have found that their safeties aren't 100% fool-proof. WebFeb 22, 2024 · However cannot ride the safety with my thumb and actually can barely off the thumb safety with the edge of my thumb. I always felt riding the safety was the "proper" way to grip a 1911. I have attached 2 pics. First shows less than perfect grip on pistol and poor trigger contact. However I can ride the safety with no problem.
