The Thylacine field is at a water depth of approximately 100 m and the Geographe field is at a water depth of approximately 85 m. The Otway project consists of an onshore gas processing facility and the Geographe and Thylacine gas fields, located in the offshore Otway Basin, between 55-70 kilometres from the Victorian coast. Thylacine was developed first, using an offshore platform and subsea pipeline to shore, and began production in September 2007.
